Strictly Railway helps Railway Children raise over £2 million

Friday 28th November saw DesignScenes 3rd annual production of The Railway Ball. Returning to The Grosvenor House, London, 2008's 'Strictly Railway' theme transformed the venue into an art deco inspired setting.

Hosted by Bradley Walsh with voiceovers from Britain's favourite voice, Peter Dickson, 2008's Railway Ball was the most exciting to date.

The Rail industry's elite were partnered them with some of the former stars of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, whilst a full theatrical production was choreographed by award winning Choreographer and Director Gary Lloyd, best known for his work on West End shows and most presently, 'Thriller Live' which is to hit the West End in early 2009.

The hugely successful event, produced for suppliers to the Rail industry, in aid of Railway Children contributed considerably to the total monies raised so far for the charity, which now stands at over £2m. Railway Children supports street children living alone and at risk on the streets. The charity helps children all over the world, many of whom live in and around railway stations.

The Railway Ball is a self-funding event, funded by the sale of tables to suppliers to the Rail Industry, whilst their continued support in donations through the auctions at the event, create much needed funds for the charity. If your organisation would be interested in hosting a similar self funding event, then please get in touch
